Red Tail Hawk

"Trees" is Red Tail Hawk's 2018 single, a five-minute song and the band's only release between the 2016 album Night Soup and the 2019 remix of "Bilderberg." The cover art, a tree with its roots exposed, sets up the nature-and-man imagery the band carried into the 2020 album Strokes.

Night Soup is Red Tail Hawk's full-length album, released in June 2016: eight songs of soulful groove rock that open with "Swimming" and run through "All Love," "Big Wind," "Fruitbasket," "You And I," "Telephone," "Busted" and "River," 35 minutes that move from funk grooves to slow-burn soul. Russ McHenry plays keys on the album.

Pitch Perfect scored it 3.9 out of 5, calling the record "structurally sound" with "a little something for everyone" and singling out "All Love" as an "irresistibly dance-y club hit." Seacoast Online interviewed Ben Zanfagna about the album ahead of the release show at the Stone Church on June 17, 2016.

"Blot" is a late-2015 single from Red Tail Hawk, released alongside "Zoo" as a two-song pair. At four and a half minutes it is the longer of the two, and together the pair bridges the band's 2014 EP Magnetic Malaise and the 2016 full-length album Night Soup.
